I would like know about softwares that capture a video when it is being played by recording the video played internally.

It depends on what format you're trying to download.

There are many combination-rippers for Windows & Real media streams.

But most software companies sell their Flash stream rippers separately.

Not sure you'll find more than what's listed at "All-Streaming".
That site is the bible for stream rippers.

Personally, I use two softwares.

1) URL Helper
This is a packet sniffer that helps you identify the type of stream being dealt with.

2) HiDownload
Once you identify the stream, you copy/paste its URL in this program.
It downloads as any other file.
