Just a quick question about ZA Pro. In the Program Control section it say's (These are components used by your progrms. Components with green checkmarks have been secured by ZA Pro.) but, when you go to the Access tab to change it, your options are green checkmark=Allow and ?=Ask.....So, does the green checkmark stop or allow....
Thanks

Not really familiar with ZAP, but I'd be willing to bet that the green check-mark definitely means 'Allow'.
Are there any screenshots in the 'Help'? Pete

Hi Pete,
Here's a paste from the help section....................................
Using the components tab
Most users never need to use the components tab, because ZoneAlarm Pro automatically secures program components.
For advanced users, the Components tab enables detailed control of specific component files. Use this tab to determine whether:
Programs that are accessing network resources can load the listed component at will.
Programs that are accessing network resources must ask permission to load the listed component (ZoneAlarm Pro displays a Program Component alert)
Note No Program Component alerts are shown if Program Control is set to Medium or Low in the Main tab....................
I'm still lost, maybe I'm just trying to read to much into this???? STILL LOST......

There's your 'out', if you want it: "Most users never need to use the components tab, because ZoneAlarm Pro automatically secures program components." (I would assume that applies especially if you keep 'Program Control' set to 'High' ).
If you are determined to use the function, I'd deny it, because i don't like the sound of "can load the listed component at will".
But I could be completely wrong about this since I don't use ZAP - hopefully, someone that does will be along shortly.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Pete

Barb,
I use ZAP. I believe the green check mark, means to always allow. Blue ? the program or component has
to as permission, and you decide whether to allow or not.

Hi Connie,
Thats what I always thought, but it throw my when I read this in the components tab section (Components with green checkmarks have been secured by ZA Pro.) I haven't had a problem yet (that I know of :-\), so I'll just stick with the If it's not broken don't fix it solution.
