Does Windows 7 use the same type of booting files as Vista (bootmgr, BOOT folder)?

If so, the entry may be able to be added manually. Can you post a copy of the BOOTWIZ.OSS file (instructions can be found here (http://www.themudcrab.com/acronis_oss_bootwiz.php))
and the partition number on which Windows 7 is installed (second Primary, fourth Primary, etc.)?

win7 only start now, when i choose vista, and then i can choose win7 with the bootmanger from microsoft. But in the future i will install win7 without vista. I have do this and then oss does not recognize win7.

So Vista was installed first, then Windows 7 and then OSS? Is that correct? If so, then Windows 7 has probably taken over the booting of Vista and its booting files are on the Vista partition. That kind of setup doesn't work with OSS. Vista would need to boot from its partition and Windows 7 would need to boot from its partition (isolated installs).

First i installed vista, then oss, and then win7. I understand that this is not recognize from oss.

But i will change this. I will install win7 in own partition (K). And then i will restore vista in own Partition C (I have an vista image without bootmanager win7)

So how can i manually add the win7 in oss? I will that Vista would boot from its partition and Windows 7 would boot from its partition (isolated installs).

Was the Windows 7 partition set Active and the Vista partition set Hidden when you installed Windows 7? I'm guessing that the Vista partition wasn't hidden.

OSS may not automatically detect Windows 7 even in an isolated installation setup. Hopefully, we can "trick" it into working.

When you install Windows 7, make sure to set the Vista partition as Hidden and the Windows 7 partition Active. You may also want to deactivate (don't uninstall) OSS prior to installing Windows 7 and then reactivate it later after Windows 7 is installed and booting properly.

You may not need to restore your Vista partition. You may be able to just remove the Windows 7 menu entry and let Vista be the default (assuming the Windows 7 boot manager is similar to Vista's).

It would probably be quicker and easier if I did it, though I could give you the instructions. What I would try first would be to duplicate the existing Vista OSS entry, change the partition ID to the correct value, change the OS ID, change the other required values and see if it works.
