I guess that in the list of components for KAV Personal Pro is missing:
Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus Mail Checker

So the only difference between the Personal and the Personal Pro version is the Inspector that is included in Personal Pro but not in Personal.

Kaspersky is checking emails for malware in a different way as other programs like NAV or NOD32 do. KAV is able to scan inside the databases where email clients store the mails.
