I'm using the freebie of this and most of the time their updates are fast.I just tried it with Vista and then XP Home and they're really slow.Is anyone else seeing this as well?

Slow like molasses, even their site is slow and at times it can take more than five minutes to reach them.

i also notice that there is no more heuristics scanning at the end of the quick scan.

Do anyone here also encounter this? ???

Yes, there is obviously a problem with their update servers today.
But it's faster if you change the update mirror to securitywonks.net

There also seems to be a problem with the protection module of their paid version.

The site is back to normal, they had some problems. Also the speed of updating is back to like it used to be.

Still there is no more heuristics scanning at the end of the quick scan. ???

MBAM's sites seem OK atm.

Nah, MBAM doesn't detect much at all?

Anyone using MalwareBytes as a stand alone on demand scanner, should just change the update mirror in the 'updates' section to the alternative to malwarebytes.org (in mine it shows securitywonks.net) and it updates ultra fast.

I have since deleted this program.I might try it again later,I found that sometimes when I went to check for updates that it automatically checked the securitywonks.net update site and I used to get an error. However when I changed it to the Malwarebytes server it updated fine.??? It did get a few of my friends out of jams when this Antivirus bug was on the go earlier:thumb:

MBAM is an excellent app and is the best at what it does in removing rogue programs.

How many pc's have I worked on where a major AV has been disabled by some rogue with MBAM cleaning up the infection allowing the AV to work again?

Let's just say heaps! 8)

If ya don't like it then don't use it.>:(

A large number of off-topic posts have been removed. This thread is about a specific issue with the MBAM servers, not people's opinions of the product or anyone's "tests" of it.
