Vista Security Center Error Message

I am running Windows Vista and upon a system restart or shutdown, the security center reports that ESET firewall and anti-virus are turned off. However the ESET Smart Security Beta 4 program reports that it is turned on. When I let security center turn the anti-virus back on, the error message goes away.

Anybody else had this error message? Any ideas on if it's a bug or something on my end?
