Rule Creating with Look ‘n’ Stop
{Quiz #1}

Not necessarily an easy thing for most but with little guidance you can conquer this easily!

Let’s begin…

QUESTION #1: What are the differences between 1st attached Image and the 2nd Attached Image?

QUESTION #2: What are these two rule purpose?

QUESTION #3: If I was to import these two rules into EnhancedRulesSet.rls, roughly where would these go?

QUESTION #2: What are these two rule purpose?

Then I would imagine that this change would be in the purpose of running a webserver.... why would you only want pour 80 to be open and an access range to ben able to be open on range..!? am I wrong?

Hey FluxGFX

Alright, so which rule is meant to be a server rule and what is the purpose of the other rule? ::)

FluxGFX

Well second picture would be the server rule

.... now the first picture....
- Would it be for the allowed port range?!

Hey FluxGFX

Besides noticeable differences in both those images of the rules, the 2nd attached image is of the server rule, the rule which is capable of being used to authorize OR block initiating Connections from remote machines. As for the 1st attached image, this is of a client rule, the rule which is capable of being used to authorize OR block initiating Connections to remote machines.

I hope those karma cookies of mine are yummy! Congratulations man!!!!

Remember there is still one more Question to be answered; if you can answer it don’t hesitate! ;)

Hey reneighd

Any client rules which authorizes TCP initiating Connections to remote machines always gets placed below the rule named “TCP : Block incoming connections”, but if you want to apply for a server you place the rules above the rule named “TCP : Block incoming connections” to authorize TCP initiating Connections from remote machines… ;)
