View Full Version : Prevx edge - problem with scanning...

I have been using it for a few days now - upgraded from V2. The last couple of days, it wont complete a scan and tells me "Your scan has exceeded the maximum number of files allowed by your license. Please click OK to upgrade or Cancel to abort the scan"
Is the upgraded license crippled? It did complete scans before yesterdsy?

Im not sure what that is - so, I gues, no!
Im running Avira AntiVir Premium and A-Squared 4 Full. I have not changed any config or added any apps etc for several days, so cant think of anything that has changed to cause the problem.
I have noticed that Prevx has become MUCH slower when scanning though.

You got me interested, so I will bite. What would be the problem? I don't use Edge right now but I did run both (Edge build 172 and FD-ISR not-crippled most recent version) together for about a week without any glich that I could see.

I have all 10 snapshots with FD-ISR loaded with different combos. I love Edge. You should know not to read to much by my avatar.;)

Hello,
We limit the number of files scanned by computer to prevent abuse by users scanning a statistically high number of files. If you could PM me your license I'll check to see if we can extend the number of files available for scanning to you.
A very small percentage of our users run into this problem, normally because of snapshotting programs or other programs which duplicate files across the system. However, it is easily fixed and we definitely want to get you back to scanning normally :)

I see now why a program like FD-ISR could have been the culprit for the OP if he had too many of those snapshots aboard. ;)

Seems to be working okay now - dont know if is as a result of you having done something at your end, or if its due to a fres install of PE here.
