Installed DD10 to partition a new 160 GB harddrive. OS on the harddrive is a fully patched Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Everything worked until the automatic re-start. There was no re-start. The OS just hung. Happened twice in a row. Fixed this with the recovery disk each time.

On the Acronis site DD10 is listed as supporting XP SP2 but there is nothing that points to SP3 problems. Does this rally mean XP SP3 is not supported? Anyone else with this issue (PartitionMagic worked without a problem)?

Thanks.

I have no problems with DD10 on XP SP3.

Probably your hardware is not supported in the Linux recovery environment. When you do an operation that affects the Windows system partition, DD must shut down Windows and reboot into its recovery environment, which is Linux.

Try running the program from the recovery CD. If you can't see your disk when booted to the "full" mode version, try the "safe" mode version, which is DOS-based. If you haven't made a recovery CD, use the Bootable Media Builder app on the "Tools" menu.
