G'day all,
I am very new to all this so please forgive my lack of computer knowledge. I recently had an e-mail bounced & was informed that the message contained an embedded file. What is an embedded file? and how do I get rid of it? I have Ad-Aware, Spybot, Spywareblaster etc & also Norton Anti-Virus on my computer & thought I had everything covered. ???

Hi and welcome to Wilders. I believe it means to insert, link, and embed one type of document into a completely different one. Whole objects may be linked or embedded into your documents. An embedded object is part of the document in which it is created and is not a reference to another file. While this makes it easier for you to send documents to others, remember that there is no guarantee that the recipient will be able to view it. E.g., an embedded Excel spreadsheet will be viewable but impossible to edit to someone who does not have the Excel program.
