I am wondering if Jason is OK? I have belonged to this forum for a number of years now and have Followed and admired Jason's work since DiamondCS was THE Innovative Source Globally for the best security Software Period. Jason I hope that all is well with you and I look forward to your return you are a brilliant programmer and I admire your work and the dedication that you put into your software:thumb: I hope that with your return Possibly there will be a Unified and most anticipated GSS Release (RegDefend, AppDefend , Ghostwall) regardless of that I certainly above and beyond all hope that you are all right and all is well.

Ok, Listen up everybody. For years, people have been waiting for this "final version" to miraculously appear. Listen up people, "IT AINT EVER GUNNA HAPPEN!!!!". I am not picking on you "Brother Asau", but several people have been going on and on about why this program has been in beta for the past 113 years and it is getting old. I bought this program about 5 years ago and still use it on occasion, but it hasn't really progressed since the initial beta version. I have since moved on to other great programs out there but I get a kick out of how people just won't let this go. People are acting the same way they did over the cancellation of "TDS". I will say it one more time for anybody who reads this post: "The final version is not going to happen!!!" Thank you. Have a good day.

As far as I know he is ok, as to why there is no communication I don't know
I do know that last time I asked he was still working on it

I doubt that Wilders would allow Jason to retain a forum here if he had simply abandoned what he was doing and had walked away

I wouldn't say he has delivered nothing. I have been using RegDefend for the past 3 years and AppDefend for about 6 months. I just hope he comes back and completes both as the versions I am currently using are both still Beta. Both work well however and I consider them an important part of my security.

I would like to see the products start moving forwards again as well, this sort of topic is bound to receive expressions of disappointment at the lack of deliveries as well as comments about how the current tools still work

Jason is a Brilliant Programmer and I actually am shocked that App Defend has not at least come out of Beta Form.

Hey everybody hows it going? Here is the problem that I see here. Everybody fails to see that Jason is just like any other person. Just because he doesn't visit the forums doesn't mean he was sucked in by some alternate universe or somthing. He has a life just like anybody else. He probably comes home every day, has a beer, kicks back, watches a little X-Files and if he feels like it, he might do a little programming. Heck, some nights he might not to do any programming at all. Maybe he's burnt out or maybe his eyes are bon fire from looking at a screen for hours on end. The point is, he has a life outside of GSS and people sometimes forget that. Hell, he might might even think that this gss upgrade has gotton so big and out of control that he just wants out!! He probably feels so stressed and suffocated over this whole thing that it is geting way too overwhelming. So, over all I am just saying why don't we all just let it go. If somthing appears then great. If nothing appears, then oh well. That should sum it up. Have a good day.

Yeah, right Barney.

Tell me how much did you invest? 80usd, like many of us did on the promise Jason made to fully develop the software? He had his hand out to us to support his work. Jason stole our money and we post here on occasion to remind people of that hard fact so they don't get bent over by him and any beer he is buying is not going to be paid for by another sucker he fleeced. Some of us recently have gone so far as to contact Visa and MasterCard and share this site info with them so they will shut down his ability to debit credit cards for his vaporeware.

I hear ya Hillsboro, I also bought his software a couple of years ago. I bought both Regdefend and Ghost Security Suite and don't get me wrong, I am also pissed off but I've simply gotton over it. He obviously let life get in the way and has chosen to discontinue his work on GSS. In fact, I actually think GSS has taken a step backwards. I found that the initial beta release is much better then the newer 1.420 version. The program now is way too sensitive to the point of exhaustion and it crashes way too often. I do occasionally use version 2.0 of regdefend but that is it. So, I used to be pissed off but I have moved on to a different program that works MUCH better and is easier to use.

The thing that kind of irks me though is when people ask whether Jason is ok. Of course he's ok, he's just laying low and milking everybody. He's stringing you along and throwing you a bone every once in a while. Just when people are about to have a breakdown, he'll pop back up with with another miniscule GSS upgrade. The funny thing is that this happens over and over and over and people still fall for it. It's sort of similar to a guy dumping his girlfriend and she keeps coming back every time. Just let it go people. Have a good day.

It is of concern that GSS / App Defend has never come out of beta. I think Jason should be formally asked what his business plan is for this product. If there is no response or no clear product release plan, then I think it will be time for Wilders to discontinue the GSS forum.

I'm not sure that would be in the best interest of people who are using, for example RegDefend, and wish to get answers to questions. Whatever the direction of development there are probably plenty of people who still use Regdefend.

What concerns me is there has been no response of any kind from Jason in several month's now. I wouldn't be surprised if Wilders didn't' pull the plug like they did on DiamondCS. The last time I see that Jason was on this forum was May 28 (5 months ago).

I have often wondered what would happen if one company's security applications worked too well? Would pressure be put on such a company to relent? To even destabilize their existing produces? Who would be effected if the masses could secure their computers with just a few programs?

I'm not saying this as a means of making light of the concerns expressed here. I just remind you that DCS had several excellent programs that gave people (apparently) unprecedented security, then what happens? RegDefend and AppDefend seemed to be very highly regarded as well. Now, what?

I ask why Wilders should not continue these forums as long as they are serving a purpose? I guess some people see this as promoting the programs, which I suppose the forums may do, however, I see it as providing support and promoting better computer security.

I'm not as advanced as most of you in this forum. If what I said is way off, it is not my intention to mislead. I just wonder if an average computer user like my self will ever be allowed access to programs that will secure my computer. If anything close to doing that became available, I think something would happen to take that program away, and discredit it. If this is paranoia, so be it!

With the coming of age of virtualizers, sandboxes and imaging programs, a lot of applications which used to be so to say important in a layered defense a few years ago, have become almost redundant. I've uninstalled RegDefend from my XP laptop, and will not give it a second thought in the future, it was simply useless.

I use RefDefend along side of Comodo Firewall Pro 3 without issue and it works well
