I am unable to get yahoo.com to load, and on the rare case it does, clicking on the Mail link goes nowhere. It is happening on one PC using three different browsers, and on another PC, too.

It is the only website having problems.

Anyone else seeing this?

No problems here AKA. Yahoo is loading good. Mail is working also. Might try it in a few minutes. I've noticed sometimes yahoo loads slowly for me..then in a few minutes it loads fast. Kinda like it gets a hiccup sometimes. Using firefox 3.0.1 and mepis linux 8.0

AKAJohnDoe, I've been having the same problems all day. Actually it started for me late last night. I've been able to get into my mail only once today, and it took forever.

I can ping yahoo.com and login.yahoo.com, but neither will connect via http.

I called Yahoo and they saw an issue trying to connect via an iPhone. Since an iPhone is AT&T and I am on Verizon, this would seem to be either an Akamai problem or perhaps NSA.

AKAJohnDoe, are you still having problems with Yahoo this morning. I got into my mail folder, but when I clicked on an a new email, It's been trying to load for ten minutes....so nothing. I still can't send new emails either. This is very frustrating.

Yes. It locks up and goes no further on login.yahoo.com

This happens on my Vista PC, with or without security active, via IE7, Opera, and Firefox (in regular mode or safe mode), on my other PC running Ubuntu via Firefox (also in regular or safe mode), on my PPC via PocketIE or NetFront, on another PC in the house running XP via IE7.

Are you on Verizon?

It is not just us. I found this (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081014135606AAMLMxe).

And the estimated hold time at Yahoo is over 30 minutes, so hopefully they are acknowledging the problem finally.

I'm not sure if Yahoo! officially launched their new website, but I am getting the new design of the home page. Maybe that's the reason why Yahoo! was down earlier.

Thanks guys....hopefully Yahoo will get this fixed as soon as possible, but it has dragged on long enough. Yesterday when I tried to logon I got a screwed up looking page that may have been the new webpage, but it didn't render properly in Firefox. I tried again a few minutes later, and got something different.

Strange. Still no problems here loading yahoo. Page loads fast. Yahoo mail is working good. Changed browsers, was using firefox yesterday. Using opera 9.60 in mepis linux today.

I drove over to a Starbucks and am right now logged in through the AT&T network there and able to get to all aspects of Yahoo.

I will try again upon my return home to see if the problem persists there or not on Verizon.

I can sort of randomly get in back home on Verizon.

It is clearly a Yahoo problem.

Who would you recommend I transfer my domain to? GoDaddy? It is unacceptable to be unable to administer my Yahoo-registered domain for over two days (so far) without even an acknowledgement of a problem from Yahoo.

I wouldn't trust Yahoo! with your web hosting--there are far better providers out there. I suggest you visit WebHosting Talk (http://www.webhostingtalk.com). You can pretty much find anything you want there that is related to hosting.

Thanks. I have already found a couple of possibilities and am researching them.

I hope I don't regret saying this, but so far this morning, my Yahoo mail seems to be working properly again.

Timely topic

I been experiencing periodic outages when trying to access my Yahoo Mail accounts.

I wouldn't be surprised though. Yahoo is been the No.1 catalyst for opening their servers wide for global spam by the billions for years. So this service interruption is to be expected from time to time i assume.
