how can I get rid of the umbrella splash screen?

there should be an option to totally disable the time-consuming splash screen in Antivir. but, I can't seem to find one. can anybody help me? I'm using Antivir Premium, BTW.

Try this :

Start>Run>regedit
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ click on avgnt
Add the parameter /nosplash to this entry

My HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\avgnt Value data entry looks like this:

"C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\avgnt.exe\" /min /nosplash

believe me, I think the splash is kinda nice. it just made me feel that it was wasting accessing time. after opening the program without it, I realized it's not. so I don't mind anymore. :)

Just for the record, disabling the splash will not speed up loading times... i think i've mentioned that a couple of times already :lurking:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run: avgnt "C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\avgnt.exe" /min /nosplash

/nosplash needs to be added! and don't forget a space after /min
