Hi Miguel, nice to meet you.
I happen to like Outpost and think it is an excellent firewall for most people. I am a beta tester for Outpost and a mod at the support forum located at http://www.agnitum.com/forum/ .
Sygate is a good firewall and so is Tiny or Kerio as it's called now.
Why don't you come over to the Outpost forum and see the kind of support users get and see what kinds of issues some people have with Outpost. You should get a good idea if Outpost is right for you or not.
One thing I do believe is that Outpost offers far better support than any other firewall. I personally gaurantee that. ;)

Hi Miguel

That's for root to address. I'll just stick to: "don't allow it".

Hi Miguel, like paul said, don't allow that one.
In Outpost, there are several connection attempts under service and some under system. You can look in the log column on the right and see what is trying to open or listen on what port
On my Win2k SP2 machine I have found that I have to allow service.exe access to my DNS server. I have SVCHost.exe and system blocked. Kernal32 would be one of the system functions I do believe.
