KAV AVK NOD32 DRWEB

I have spent a whole day to determine which antivirus would be the best for my PC.
In summary my result is as follow, and i still have some wonderings...:

KAV: Great but heavy on CPUand awful interface.
I have read that the last beta version is lighter on the CPU with a nice interface. Is it true?

AVK: Great because it is using the KAV Motor.
But the last version is only in english. Is there any way to get an english version of the AVK? Is it true that, as this version is not that light on the CPU?

NOD32: Great because it seems to be light...(not sure because some are telling it to be slow...). And I am not so sure about its efficiency against all viruses and trojans...

DRWEB: Great because it is said to be light. Is it really better than NOD32?

I don't care the price.
I want to be protected, really protected.
But I don't want the antivirus to slow down too much my PC
And I don't want a too complicated antivirus neither, considering I might propose it to other people with less IT knowledges...

So what sloud I choose?

All of those av's are good. But the final decision is inevitably yours. You probably won't go wrong with any of the apps. you mentioned. Kav is a little harder on resources but it is not all that bad considering the protection it gives. Dr. web does give a few false positives every once in a while but it's detection rates are good. Nod runs light with good detection also. And avk has very good detection also so like I said I don't think you will go wrong with which ever one you choose. ;)

Lastly.. I would say its you and how you CLICK while you are online or offline that counts above all. then comes your choice of security softwares its you who knows you the most and your way of working, so having a detailed study choose the one that SUITS you.

another antivirus with kav engine(+2 more) is f-secure.. worth considering too ;D it has a free trial available

The link that was given by both Subratam and Shapechanger9 is a good discussion and will show you how truly complicated the issue is. Being a careful internet user myself, I got along for several years with AVG (an inferior but free AV) without incident. Generally that's not really the best idea, and if you want protection even though it will cost, there are better choices (I now use NOD32); but "which one is the best" cannot really be answered except by the individual user, I think.
