Ghostwall mystery

Ghostwall has run flawlessly since it first came out, but today it mysteriously blocked the Internet after boot up. After resetting the modem, by-passing the router, insuring my computer had an assigned IP address, I finally cleared the problem by momentarily applying the option Allow All.

What could have happened?
