Hello,

I would like to have your help in the following 2 questions:

My system is behind a router and I use xp firewall to protect my pc from the possible threats coming from other pcs also behind the same router.

1. Does xp firewall really provide such level of protection by default in this case?

2. Is there a way to protect xp firewall from killing by malicious apps?

Thanks in advance. xtree

Yes , it does.

You need antivirus/antispyware/antimalware application to do that .
As of protection - limited user account (limited rights) will protect the Windows Firewall as applications cannot access registry keys connected to WF.
