Does anyone have any experience with Airelle Lists Hosts File? The number of entries in this hosts file is so much larger than many of the other hosts files that I have seen. Also, do you think that this large of a hosts file would bog down a PC (Even with DNS Client Disabled)?

English Translation (From French):

Thank you.

Thank you. <-QUOTE}you will go even faster:thumb:
most of the host files what they do is that by blocking all this banners, tracking cookies and spyware sites makes your connection faster when loading a page, cause
you dont have to be waiting a pop up(advertisement,etc.etc.
as you can see i use OpenDns and Mvps host files, plus sites restricted in SpyWare Blaster and i notice the difference,i am way faster now.
now about the host file you mention a never use it so i can not comment on that one.

In some cases, an exceptionally large HOSTS file can drastically slow down your computer.

Please read THIS (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm#Note) for an explanation & possible fix. However, the "fix" carries its own potential disadvantages. That's why I use MVPS (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm) -- not too big; not too small.
