Spyware Doctor making a come back?

Well, i decided, after many years of ignoring spyware doctor, i decided to test it out. Using Returnil, i infested my computer with malware from hell, and ran a scan. Odd part is, it picked up almost all of them, bringing down my CPU from 100% to its normal 2-4% (im assuming all malware is gone). I scanned with Super antispyware, and all it found was some stupid hack tool thingy that Spyware doctor found, but ignored to when asked to remove. So guys, is PC Tools making a come back?

How do you know they weren't FP's?

He didn't say how he infected himself. It could of been from pr0n sites and therefore who did not know which malware he got.

Well, it wasn't a porn site. It was a site filled with supposed "cracks" which dont even work. Thats were i do my testing. The second you double click one executable, i was flooded with hoards of malware. How i know they weren't false positives? Well, usually when you get a fake windows security alert telling you there is a virus or trojan, its not typically a good sign. Not only that, stupid random pop ups where coming EVERYWHERE.

Spyware Doctor 6.0 with AV was reviewed by PC Mag a couple of months ago and was rated very highly. Unfortunately when I installed it on my XP PC it caused boot problems so I couldn't keep it.

I don't know about the detection, but I found the lack of control very annoying. Even with the real-time protection turned off, the icon was always in the taskbar and there was a noticeable drag on my system. Closing the icon took about a minute or 2. If I disabled the startup entry and opened Spyware Doctor manually it took another minute.
