Custom installation

Hello everybody :)

This question may have been answered before but I can't find thread for it so here goes:
during custom install of Nod32 v.3.0, why is there no option for what one wishes to install... like I don't want email protection and web access protection, so is there any way to skip these from loading?

This feature is available in Nod32 v.2.7 so why is it gone in v.3.0?:'(

You cannot keep these from loading. They can be disabled after install.

but if these modules are disabled after the install then the icon turns orange which means that you're not supposed to do that or am I doing it the wrong way? :-\

If you don't want to have the http traffic scanned, disable it in the http setup in the main setup window. The modules cannot be disabled permanently.

By the way, is there a reason why you want to disable the email/web protection modules? They serve as the first line of defense and thus provide better protection that the on-access/on-demand scanners.

Email module I don't really need 'cause I use web based applications (like gmail) and not outlook express.
With web protection activated I get slowdowns while browsing internet, specially when utorrent is activated, don't know why but that's just how it is. Including it in exceptions doesn't really help.
The best way is having web access protection disabled, that's just how I prefer it, hence my questions about this.
Real-time on access protection is more than adequate for me ;) .

The web protection module uses more sensitive heuristics and thus detects more than the on-access scanner.

I for one haven't ever noticed any problems while running utorrent together with v3. By excluding utorrent, do you mean that you placed a cross next to it in the list of web browsers?

No, I meant it's under Exclusions tab, in the list of web browsers the box next to utorrent is empty (not marked) so I'm assuming the data transfer is not scanned (because that is what I want).

Exclusions are effective for the file protection (ie. the real-time and on-demand scanners). If you don't want the traffic initiated by applications to be redirected through ekrn, place a red checkbox next to the desired application in the web browser list.
