There are many AV-Vendoers developing a new technology called "In-the-cloud":shifty: .
Panda's is called "Collective Intelligence" , McAfee's is called "Artemis" and Norton's is called "Norton Community Watch":blink: .
In the latest test of AV-Test (http://www.virusbtn.com/news/2008/09_02.xml) , all of above had better detection rates and faster respond time:thumb: .
I suggest that ESET shoud start to develop your own "In-the-cloud" technology(Or you have started develop it from a long time ago:o !?).
'Couse "Today 15,000 new viruses will be created..." , for the faster respond time "In-the-cloud" technology is a new way:) .

Only 15,000? This seems to be a quite small number as we get much more via ThreatSense ;D

I'd feel fooled if more than 15000 ... Tell your webmaster to change the site ;D

They are all different kinds of technologies:dry: .
It seems you have to read about "In-the-cloud" technology first:ouch: .
BTW , F-Secure also has a similar technology:
{QUOTE-> Fast, Faster, F-Secure DeepGuard 2.0
F-Secure Protection Datacenters are distributed worldwide and each data center is clustered. These services are so powerful, it only takes milliseconds to query the server for the status of a file. In fact, it is often faster to check the status of a file with a network lookup instead of scanning the file locally with traditional scanning engines.
When a new potential threat appears, the first computers that encounter it anywhere in the world, will instantly inform the highly automated F-Secure security labs. For confirmed threats we are able to add complete protection in 60 seconds. After this, all computers with this technology query the network, and are instantly protected. This shortcuts the hours it typically takes to send out database updates. <-QUOTE}
It means you connection with the AV-Vendors' server and get the result in a few time even seconds:D .

This "In the cloud technology" became the new buz word when Google launched its new browser "Chrome" on Sept. 3rd. Just like the browser, its got a ways to go before we'll be using it, unless I haven't read enough Google alerts yet. ;)

{QUOTE-> IN THE CLOUD IS FROM TREND MICRO <-QUOTE}
I think the name was from TrendMicro is right , but in Chinese it is the same mean:blink: .
May be I should use the explain of Panda:P :
{QUOTE-> We've recently released the new Panda Internet Security 2009 to public beta. This is the first product to use "scanning from the cloud" technology based on Panda's Collective Intelligence [PDF] as the first line of defense against new malware.
From:http://research.pandasecurity.com/archive/Panda-Internet-Security-2009-BETA.aspx <-QUOTE}
And it seems Panda said they created the technology first;D :
{QUOTE-> Last week, Eva Chen, Trend’s Micro CEO said that ‘AV Industry sucks’. Even though I know what she meant and I do agree, I would have used different words. But what I want to point out about this is a different thing --> scanning "in the cloud". I’m really happy to see that we have created a trend and that now Trend Micro is following us. I really think that this is the best AV companies can do right now, and I hope the others will follow us too.

the buzz word "in the cloud" has been bandied around for the last 2 years - in hosting, it is used for distributed computing and/or storage - basically - it means "not on your machine, but on another machine or machines - somewhere ELSE". It's "internet" by another name.
Don't buy into the buzz-word - it has ALWAYS existed since you started downloading your updates using your very first modem and information was passed back the other way...
