Now isn't this strange. To beta test at one time you needed a username and password to access their FTP server.
I hope it works out for them :)

Wheww!!!!!!!!!!
The times they are a changing

There's a thread going at DSL reports:

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,3767117~root=security,1~mode=flat

Rumor has it that it doesn't go well with Zonealarm, and Symantec advises to get rid of it... ::)

I guess Peter wants you to buy his firewall instead... ;D

I must say, that, although I still have NAV installed, as it used to come with my former installation of NIS, I'm slowly getting disenchanted with the product.

Very happy with Nod32, and, if I should ever require a second opinion, I'm ever more inclined to go for Dr. Web.

Taken from readme file

"Zone Alarm incompatibility issue
--------------------------------
You may encounter problems using Norton AntiVirus with
Zone Alarm installed on your system. We recommend
updating your version of Zone Alarm or uninstalling it
when using Norton AntiVirus.

Network Associates PGP compatibility issue
------------------------------------------
Network Associate's PGP encrypts the boot record,
preventing Norton AntiVirus from scanning them for
viruses."

I dont think NAV2003 holds much of a difference over NAV2002 at all. Besides maybe the MSN/AIM/YAHOO Mess feature, there is nothing else thats difference. I don't think they bothered to look at their scanning engine or even change the code!

Either you guys and gals are running very slow machines or you are used to getting a full scan in 5 min in stead of the 15 Norton takes

Just to get an idea Controler, try the demo of NOD32 . Do a full scan with each (same settings: either default of everything on full) and post the results. Scan speed is of no use if it misses stuff, but usefull if the rest of the prog is competent.
