I was surprised to find that Outpost Firewall had 30 instances of rules for something called update.exe, of which I blocked all. Looking at the properties of the file, it was associated with Spyware Doctor, of which I had no knowledge of. I ran a search, and the only thing that came up was in common files/Achronis/BackupScripts. The question now is what this has to do with Achronis and what is the update for? I'm extremely careful about what I allow to call home. BTW, this is on TI 10. I guess the reason that I hadn't found this before, is because OP didn't have an automatic learning mode for rules before.

EDIT: After blocking the first 30 instances of update.exe rules, when I just checked, I found 2 new ones listed, so this looks to be a persistent problem. How do I stop this without uninstalling TI?

Hello seekermeister,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please be aware that update.exe file is not a part of Acronis True Image. The folder Common Files/Achronis/BackupScripts should only contain .xml files (they are used when backing up Application Settings of file categories).

Thank you.
