SirRobin,

It would be nice (for the folk's @ home) and responsible if you took the time to document what you've got there.

Cool. Here are some I never go without for my Unattended XP Dvd. I am not saying they all are 100% documented to actually improve anything. But I have used these in a reg merge for maybe 3 years now, no problems. They get merged during install, so I don't know what happens if you use them after your system is up and running.

Okay, but it would be better if you wrote some sort of description, gave a link.

'EventID 4226: TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts'
-{ Quote: "Windows XP SP2 limits the number of simultaneous incomplete outbound TCP connection attempts per second to 10 from an "unlimited" number (16777214) in SP1. With the new implementation, if a P2P or some other network program attempts to connect to 100 sites at once, it would only be able to connect to 10 per second, so it would take it 10 seconds to reach all 100. In addition, even though the setting was registry editable in SP1, it is now only possible to edit by changing it directly in the system file tcpip.sys. Keep in mind this is a cap only on simultaneous incomplete outbound connect attempts per second, not total connections. Servers and P2P programs can definitely be affected by this new limitation. The purpose of this is an attempt to limit the speed at which Viruses and Worms spread. However this does absolutely nothing to improve YOUR security. It merely attempts to slow the spread of a Viruses and Worms from your computer to others AFTER you have been infected. Remember it is a limit on OUTBOUND not Inbound connections. I recommend installing this patch for optimal network and Internet performance. -Optimize XP

Event ID 4226 Patcher (http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=tools#4226patch)
-{ Quote: "
The patch...
What's been done:
To say it easy: the before 10 half-open connections are beeing increased to 50 (can be changed during runtime and with the parameter /L) and the CRC is been corrected. And that's it!
The method described here, should only be used by users, who know how to handle all the described. With the download of the here published program the user know, that changes are made on third party files. For damages in every kind I cannot be hold responsible for. Indeed, tests worked fine here. However, nothing is impossible.
Info: When error occurs, the patcher can change the TCPIP.SYS back to the original!

lol, you would be correct I suppose. For the sake of having every know reg edit in one place that would indeed be grand. I will not unfortunately be doing that. I have way way too many reg tweaks to even think of that. Might I suggest if one really wants to get down to it that MSFN.org would be a very very good resource for reg tweak collections. Most I collect are designed to be implemented with a new install of XP, to make it behave the way I want. MSFN has a very intesive area for this type of thing, and many more qualified answers than I can hope to give.

Still, a good reg tweak is sometimes worth it's weight in gold... or a few barrels of crude.

I found that by disabling last access timestamp really screws up defrags :)
