where can i find what version is my norton antivirus 2008? and its virus definition version?

I can tell you where the version number is in Norton Internet Security 2008. Hopefully it's the same with NAV 2008. Open up the main console, and in the upper right hand corner there is a link to "Help and Support". That will take you to the "Help and Support" pane. In the upper right hand corner of that pane is a link "About". That will take you to a pane with two tabs, "General", and in my case "Norton Internet Security". Clicking on the NIS tab gives me the version. If not exactly the same, it should at least get you close to finding the version in NAV.

Under "Help & Support" you can find the "About" button. There you can find you version number.

You have the latest version available for download from Symantec.
