mixer icon exists on traybar.
volume setting on login is ALWAYS minimized.
i cannot save volume setting.
win98 is also installed on same computer
and works correctly.
clue: when mixer.exe is sent to DEPENDS
it indicates the wdmaud.drv is 16bit.
apparently the application is using the win98 drive
driver.
how do i replace the wdmaud.drv with my
xp wdmaud.drv (it exists)?
i reinstalled the media several times but
get the same result.
thanks a million.

Welcome Flamingo!

Do you somehow feel your initial post went by unnoticed? Patience! Response time's a mixed bag.

no, since it was my first post i thought it would appear in new posts.
since it wasn't listed there i realised i hadn't indicated a forum.
my son also pointed out not to type in capital.
it was lovely seeing your response.

A FLAMINGO, if you don't receive a response from here soon, perhaps you should try posting your problem in the CMedia Forum (http://www.cmedia.com.tw/forums/).
