Outlook backup / transfer to another PC

I need to transfer all the emails (sent and received etc) and diary data on my work notebook to my home PC.

Both use Outlook 2003 - clearly, different accounts though. When working remotely, I use web based outlook, but Outlook 2002 syncs when Im in the office.

My work email account is now inactive (disabled as Im leaving the company) so I cant use the account.

How can I transfer all the emails etc to my home PC?

Outback Plus is not free but is well worth the money.
Although I don't have it, I do have its brother for Outlook Express for many years "Express Assist":

If you can find your Outlook.pst, you could just copy that to your home computer and add it as a Personal Folder.

I just did that to transfer all my e-mail after a reformat. Getting the contacts to work was a big buggy though.

Settings are:
File --> Data File Management --> Add

And then navigate to the .pst file that you copied over.

That's why I recommended Outback Plus 6. It knows what to back up so when you later restore, everything Outlook needs is there. Also it can do open file backups.

Do a search to find where ALL the Outlook folders are currently located-copy them to say a USB stick,then paste them to the relevant new locations.
A bit of duplication wont matter.
Always worked for me.

After a backup, just copy the backup file to a CD or DVD and import that file into the Outlook program on the new computer.

Have you tried with Office 2007. They've changed things.

Thats just the PST file. Won't get all the settings.

Very interesting program indeed Peter. It doesn't seem to have a free version though.

But it makes me think about poking around in the Office11 folder and using Karen's Replicator to see if I can replicate the functionality. I'm sure there must be a way.

This is true. You pay one way or the other. I also use a sync program, and thought I had everything, but even syncing to a new install wasn't enought. Outback Plus restore did the trick.
