View Full Version : Eject disk when backup or restore is done

I wanted TI to eject the disk when it finishes a backup task but it either doesn't support this or only supports it on certain drives.

After a little searching I found FreeEject (http://www.freeeject.com/index.html).

Then set up my backup tasks to run it as a post backup command.

Now when my backups are done the disk is ejected automatically.

Just curious - why is it important for the disk to be ejected automatically?

Because frequently TI doesn't tell you when the backup is done, seeing the disk ejected is a clear sign the backup is finished and the disk can be put away.

I use a 120 GB Rev drive and with my set up, it only takes 1 disk for each backup task.

Unfortunately since this is a post backup task it won't work for that purpose, unless TI runs the post backup task at the end of each disk as well as at the end of the entire backup task.

Fortunately for me as noted above, I don't need it for that.

For multiple DVDs in one backup, TI does eject the full disks, but I never use TI directly with DVDs for any backup that needs more than one.

Your trick is a nice one!

Thanks! :)

That's why I posted it, figured it might help someone else. ;D
