I do not know what it's dial-up ..." }- I use most of the above mentioned (except I use Auslogics disk defragger and JKdefrag) and have done the rest as you say periodiacally ,I find that with every operating system a person has to tweak it to their personal use. I have reset my system restore to hold only 1 gig ( 15 per cent of my 320 gig hard drive is overkill) and when I take an image ( with True Image) I turn off system restore to clear it and turn it on again afterwards, makes for a smaller image. Do keep the good stuff coming.

Thanks for trying PROROOTECT I do use serial port modem. I get approx. 45k speed which is fairly good for dial-ups.

Uncontrolled piling of bookmarks can slow down browser's startup a bit. I really don't see how can it affect the browsing itself.
