Is there a virus, trojan, keylogger, spyware memory scanner, that just scans RAM, and not the entire HDD?
Thank you

BOClean just scans memory. SAS does a memory scan first before the HDD scan.

Hi
I think PC Tools AV version 5 beta has a memory scanner like BoClean.

Sorry for any misunderstanding. I didn't mean a memory scanner within an AV program.
I was looking for a program that only does memory scanning. This saves me downloading and installing an AV.

Well that leaves BOClean. However I'm not sure it will cover enough malware for you to use it as the only program if you are looking at a black listing approach.

Well every 'beta' should be treated as is, yet added double risk it coming from PCTools :P

Drweb cureit, its free and requires no installation. ;)
scans memory as soon as its loaded, then you can 'choose' if you wish, to scan a harddrive etc.

Why do you indicate that anything that comes from PCTools should be treated with caution?

Yeah, good one, I just came across this too. It ran and reported my whole system as clean :-)
I also did a free online scan at eset (NOD32) and Kaspersky. All reported clean system :)

I was sorta joking don't take it too serious.
I remember to have tried their SpywareDoctor AS years ago which left a bunch of files after uninstallation, overall not a good impression.

I installed the PCtools Firewall and I have never ever experienced such a negative issues than I had with it. I removed it and now use Webroot firewall instead. I would never install PCtools again.

Sorry, I never meant it to go that way.
I had a bad experience with their software, that's all.

Macstory, please never apologise for sharing your personal feelings. We live in a democracy, and law was set under the constitution. We live in a liberal democracy which means freedom of expression is allowed and welcome.
If you have had a negative experience with something, then please share what it was. Dont let anyone bully you to keep silent. We do not live in a dictatorship.
I also shared my negative experience with PCTools and I will never install it again.

Some users feel offended by some comments (they think) 'targeting' their favorite apps or vendors.
I understand your point and i agree, but if someone felt bad i just apologized (nothing to do with personal feelings) as good manners dictate. ;)
As for your original question, have you been served well? ;D
