{QUOTE-> Rootkit revealer is always best for looking for rootkits.

Rootkit Revealer is not really designed for Vista I am finding. It runs oddly and finds a lot of false positives, or at least things that i don't know what they are.
Can anyone recommend a Rootkit revealer for Vista out of this list, hopefully free:

Hello RobOK,
Based upon personal experience, two of the best free rootkit detectors for Vista are GMER and RootRepeal.
GMER - http://www.gmer.net/files.php
RootRepeal - http://rootrepeal.googlepages.com/home
Hope this helps.
Peace & Gratitude,

Thanks...
I will be away for a bit so I won't be able to post back my success with these -- thanks for the pointers!

AVZ antiviral toolikit or IceSword? Both have served me well under Vista.
