My AVG Anti-Spyware subscription (and their support) expires in November. I decided to take advantage of the Gizmo giveaway. I have it disabled at startup and the service set to manual. How would this be as a replacement for AVG? Thank You!

A-squared Anti-Malware as an on-demand scanner is okay. Though its main and strong point is its IDS feature (in the paid version) that requires you to use the Guard actively.

This is the paid version. I've just disabled it for now and was wondering if it would be an acceptable replacement for AVG A-S after my subscription expires?

I know you have the paid version since you got the free 1-year license. If you run it actively later after your AVG Anti-Spyware runs out, then yes I think its an adequate replacement.
