Hi Smokey,
Guess you are referring to v6.4.1 Don't know of any tests as of yet.
(Although SOFTWIN, the vendors, did ask us to mirror this software, grin..).

paul

Only one I could find is in German. I hope that's not a problem.

You can search for AVX instead of BitDefender. This would deliver more (older) results. BitDefender gets at the moment a lot of attention due to their free cleaning tools they offer and not for superb antivirus technologie. BD is not a bad antivirus but there are a lot more better solutions on the market.

I'm always listening to good suggestions.
What is in your opinion a better solution on the market?
Have for example tried NAV2002, in many tests/reviews the product is rating "the highest stars of the sky", but scanning in archives will not work very well with NAV....
Have tried NAV in conjunction with archived files, and the discovery of virussen in archives is, and now i'm very kind, sh*t!!!!!!!!!
BitDefender did discover all the virussen in the very same archives...

Hi wizard!
Reply nr.2 to you of my side:
Have tested the whole day BitDefender Professional v6.4.1, endresults:
Positive: good engine for scanning in archives
Negative: unpredictable behaviour, to much false alarms, several bugs, interference with other software
End-conclusion: FAILED

Currently I suggest two anti virus programs. The first one is Kasperksy Anti Virus which is the program I am using. The main advantages are very good detection rates, very good trojan detection (so I do not need to run a second antitrojan program in the background). And the feature I like most: the unpacking engine. No other antivirus software can scan inside some many different archives, installer archives, packed or crypted files.
The other software is NOD32. NOD32 has first class detection rates, has an extreme fast scanning engine (the fastest I have seen so far) and an excellent heuristic.
