Only AVG detected this

I got an attachment in my email which ONLY AVG of all the free virus and spywarescanners detected as a trojan. :-\

Virustotal confirmed this.

Way to go AVG, the only bad is that AVG 8 slows down things considerably.
I got a Pentium 4 and 512 MB ram.

Of course Geswall and Sandboxie dealed with it.

What free Antivirus software did you use?, how did you do it? ::)

On demand AVAST, Avira, Superantispyware, Malwarebytes, a2.

Boclean did nonting. Ah, haven't tried Rising yet. Maybe not ALL free progs, but the most used.

Please repeat with 1000 other trojans and let us know the final results and your methodology.

No I only mentioned this one because I was surprised.
It is the same one that cruelsister mentioned in the Rising AV - free edition thread #237.

So Rising didn't detect it too.

Have you researched about the trojan horse?

If you find out that it exists for quite a time now, then yes, the other antivirus should be able to detect it. At least the well-known antivirus.

Otherwise, means nothing at all. AVG could detect it and still let pass one other trojan horse.

What makes you sure that there weren't more than just 1 on the email? The antivirus just couldn't detect them. (what one can't see and smell, one cannot bark at it *puppy* )

No AVG is not one of the best at detecting trojans. Refer you to AV-Comparatives last test- AVG only 26% detection of trojans as opposed to 69% for Avira and Sophos. Missing 74% of the proactive sample hardly qualifies as "one of the best." And on an on-demand basis, it was behind three others in terms of detection. Not the best out there for trojan detection.
