I have happily used FDISR on my XP computer for a couple of years. Just got a new computer with Vista Home Premium & want to use FDISR again.

Problem is that I want to shrink my C: drive partition to control size of snapshots. However, Vista won't let me shrink the C: partition to less than 320GB (out of 455GB total), whereas in XP, my C: partition was 35GB. My data is in a separate partition. Won't my snapshots be huge, making it virtually impossible to have several snapshots, or am I overlooking something basic?

Your snapshot size isn't based on the partition size, but the amount of data. I don't partition my disks and it's no problem with FDISR.

Thanks for the reponse. I guess I was trying to solve a problem that isn't there. I'll go ahead and begin using an old favorite again. Definitely feel safer knowing it's there to save me from my errors.
