Using Acronis True Image for myself and family, or if I need to Acronis snap deploy: Is there anyway via batch or other file to specify which icons are to be placed on the desktop, while I saw an option to not run the desktop clean up, I'm specifically looking to have the my desktop and my documents icons available by default when they were not in my Dell oem install of Win XP.
Thank you,

On the original installation of XP or Vista..
1. Create an admin account call it what you like.
2. Install and configure the desktop of that account exactly how you like it. Set all your system settings etc.
3. Once you have everything set on that desktop where you are ready to start using it on a daily basis reboot the machine.
4. Once booted back up log in as the actual administrator account. Not the other account.
5. Goto control panel and select system.
6. Advanced tab, click the user profiles button.
7. In the box highlight the user that you set up things how you wanted.
8. Click the copy to button
9. In xp you want the path you are coping to to be
C:\Documents and Settings\default user
in Vista you want C:\Users\Default
What you have done now is copied the profile of the account you configured and set the way you want to the default profile. Now when you image your machine when you log in for the first you will get that same desktop. The caveat is is that everyone that logs into the machine gets that desktop. You can however after logging in make what ever changes you like to customize your desktop.
