Hi,

System: Windows XP SP2, Outlook 2007 SP1, Intel Core Duo 2, 4GB RAM

I have two add-ins active in Outlook + NOD32 Antivirus 3.0 add-in. Whenever I'm doing some more intensive work using that add-ins (selecting ~300 items, performing action on large amount of items), Outlook pops a message box with following message:

"The Add-in 'Eset Outlook Plugin' (C:\PROGRA~1\ESET\ESETNO~\EPLGOU~1.DLL) cannot be loaded and has been disabled by Outlook. Please contact the Add-in manufacturer for an update. If no update is available, please uninstall the Add-in. Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again."

I read the thread where same error occurred with NOD32 2.7:

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=191898&highlight=outlook+2007

Solution was to install NOD32 3.0. I did that, but didn't helped. I also read about deleting extend.dat file in the knowledge base. That also didn't helped.

Thank you for your reply!

I've got this same problem with my laptop running Vista Ultimate plus Office 2007, but my laptop is only 2GB of RAM and not 4GB.

I don't know why does the problem appear but you can disable NOD32's integration within Office Outlook from the Advanced Setup Tree -> Miscellaneous -> mail client integration section

Your email will still be scanned if POP3 is used . Real-time file system protection will scan the attachments in any case (including with or without EAV/NOD32 integration in Outlook)

Hi HiTech_boy,

I'm working in the company that works on development of the Outlook 2007 Add-in. I know that this message box does not appear because of our Add-in, because it appeared before with other Add-ins or sometimes with no Add-ins installed. You're actually telling me to tell my customers to disable NOD32 for e-mail protection. That is ridiculous solution...
Since there are few threads that discuss this issue or similar issue (NOD32 Emon DLL) with NOD32 2.7, I wonder why is no solutions to this problem. Why does ESET integrate with Outlook 2007 if integration does not work properly?

Best regards,

Is this a fault with Eset or Microsoft and to say the least I'm not happy with this, wonder if this problem occurs with other AntiVirus Software.

microsoft reccomends not scanning outlook since it can cause corroption of the outlook database.
cant find a link atm thou.
yet all antivirus companies ignore that and scan it anyway.

im sure your issue can be fixed.
as noted by hitechboy disabling the outlook intergration wont reduce the protection. any infections will be caught by the realtime scanner.

I have had a similar issue with Outlook scanner. We have users who have several mailboxes open and NOD grinds outlook to a halt I assume from it scanning every single email in every single mailbox. Does this scanner also scan public folders as well? The second I disable it the problem is resolved but that is not a solution, it is a workaround.

I called NOD32 tech support (local) and the only thing they had to tell me is to disable integration with Outlook 2007.

Thank you for your replies.

With ESET v3 solutions , mail integration will only give extra options for you and your clients , it doesn't fully disable mail scanning.

Well , I don't know what exactly do you work but I have been reselling NOD32 for more than two years and I have a lot of clients who run either NOD32 v2 and v3 + either Outlook 2003 and 2007 with no problems and have been like that for quite a long time .

There must be some other problem in your case but the truth is that ESET solutions does integrate and work well with Microsoft mail client programs (such as Outlook Express , Office Outlook , Windows Mail , etc) .

Please , contact ESET Support for further help or seek the problem somewhere else . :)
