Hi Friends,

I recently installed Shadowprtect Desktop V3 on my hp laptop. However before I had a chance to create image of my system, it stopped working due to some infection (I guess). I had to restore the system using the recovery disc.

After the restoration, Shadowprotect could not restart due to some missing files. I reinstalled it. NOW the license key is showing as disconnected. I CANNOT create a back up or restore. These two options are simply not present there.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall Shadowprotect, but the same problem persists.

Anybody had this issue before? What did you do to fix it? Please help.

Thanks,
msm

Have you tried going to Network View and clicking on connect?

You might do best by opening a support ticket with Storagecraft.

Hi ffreedom01,

Thank you so much. Just one click and I am back into business.

Your tip was a life saver.

Pete,

My next step was Storagecraft. However I would not have got such a fast solution to the problem.

Again, Thanks a Million, friends!!!

Care has to be taken when reinstalling SP,whether its in the existing system setup or in a new installation of any form.

Only one instance of SP is allowed for non-commercial use.

If SP is just reinstalled without stopping the previous install-it appears to StorageCraft that in fact two Sps are being used and a new activation key must be obtained,as the old one is useless. There is NO way to get around this.

The correct procedure prior to reinstallation,or installing on a new system-is to go to SP HELP -Product Activation and Deactivate the existing SP.
Then the same serial no- key can be used.

Forgetting to do this has happened twice for me-on the last occasion took a full week for StorageCraft to provide the new key.
You can still use SP,but in trial mode.
