Test your IQ with the question below:

There is a mute who wants to buy
a toothbrush. By imitating the action
of brushing one's teeth he successfully
expresses himself to the shopkeeper
and the purchase is done.

Now if there is a blind man who wishes
to buy a pair of sunglasses, how should
he express himself?

Think about it first before scrolling down
for the answer...

He just has to open his mouth and ask,
so simple. If you got this wrong please -
do not pass go, just go dig
a hole and hide. ::)

About the first one...I thought of an airplane but it has 3 wheels...not two "feet"...and since there isn't any pterodactyl or rhamphorhynchus anymore, it cannot be a bird... :-\ How about a wheel barrow? :)

The second can be leaves but we don't "walk" on them when they are alive...So I'm not too sure. Ok, a very easy one:

3./ What is the fewest number of lines that need to be moved to make the following roman numeral equation to be correct?

Okay, see what I have so far....in the "math one" *puppy*

1. The sequence with 3, 6, 9, 12, __ . I didn't find it. :-[
2. The second, the equation, is correct because it's an octal, right?
3. For the third, only one line needs to be moved (the vertical line to the right of the first X needs to be moved to the left side of that X). :)

for instance:X I + I = X
can be made correct by making it
I X + I = X

4.The fourth one....I don't know. :-\
5.The fith one....if you are speaking of pieces of gold than the pound of $10 pieces is worth more. If you are speaking of gold-based currency than they are equal. If it's gold-based currency yes they are the same, but ifyou are speaking of nuggets of gold the one pound collection is worth more.

They were good! :)

It can be done with zero moves either by turning your monitor upside down or rotating your head 180 degrees ;D

4./ Can you move just one line in the equation below, to make it correct. No fiddling with the equal sign.

V I = I I
Your gonna bite your lip and shake your head but..

__
V I = I Square root of 1 =1 Dirty Eh!

#2 and this 3, 3, 5, 4, 4, 3, 5, 5, __

Numbers is sequence by the number of letters in the word one =3 letters etc.

9 =4 my broter in law came up with the eleven thing as well.

1./ A carrot, a pile of pebbles, and a pipe are lying together in a field. Why? ???

2./ As a entrance test for a university, you are given a corked bottle with a coin in it. Your task is to remove the coin without taking the cork out of the bottle or breaking the glass, or boring a hole in the cork or glass.

How do you pass the test and get the coin out?

3./ What question can you never answer "yes" to?

4./ What do you throw out when you want to use it, but take in when you don't want to use it?

5./ What can go up a chimney down, but never go down a chimney up?

MikeBCda
February 29th, 2004, 11:52 PM
Getting too late at night to think even halfway straight about those, so I'll pass.

That O,T,T,F etc. one gave me an interesting idea for a related one. We won't pose the question here, since we've already pretty well given it away, but it's a suggestion if you've got other groups where it would be new and fresh.

O,T,T,F,....
U,D,T,Q,....
U,D,T,C,....
E,Z,D,V,....
(and you can add others you might know that I don't)

What do these sequences have in common -- and why the differences?

(Edit) Whoops, skipped too fast past your #3 and #5. One's old as the hills, and the other's worth a semi-intelligent guess. The one about the chimney's an umbrella, of course. And as for the question, "Are you sleeping?" or even "Are you dead?" are the two obvious first guesses.
