View Full Version : Restore Image to Virtual Machine

We have a requirement to do testing on one of our clients W2K3 servers on a remote site. The source system is backed up using Acronis True Image Server 9.1 with Universal Restore.

It occured to us that a cost effective way of doing this is to replicate the server on a Virtual Machine e.g. VMWare under W2K3.

Is it possible to restore the image we have from the source system to a Virtual Machine?

Hello mschultz,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Server Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/ATISWin/).

We are sorry for delayed response.

It's definately possible to restore an image to a virtual machine using Acronis Universal Restore. Please notice that you will need to provide proper drivers for the virtual machine (available from the virtual machine provider).

Please note that according to Acronis License Policy you need to purchase one copy of the product for every computer it will be used to manage.

Thank you.
