e trust v7 has two engines
InnoculateIT with 16 passes and Vet with 20 passes
I use e trust V7 promo and I have a older pc with only 128 rams and it hums along fine . I also find both scan engines fast .

I hate if antivirus does not catch virus on e-mail when it comes. It is very useless if you have to open virus first if you want to see detection.

yes some peoples are nervous about not having a separate mail component with there anti virus . How ever It would seem to me that its not needed .
On the other hand why trust in only the latest sig downloads from your favourite AV to protect your emails?( they are always going to be behind the actual event in time) If one is that worried I would rather place my trust in a separate (layered approach) that does not require sig updates and can deal with not only known and unknown virus but other other real concerns such as web bugs and malicious scripts , and tracking etc that emails seem to have now adays .( IE Benign from firetrust ) An anti virus cannot do all these things.

Just use both and in Avast only enable Outlook plugin and/or P2P

Slightly OT then, but there's an Avast plugin for The Bat! (http://www.avast.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1500;start=0)...
