When I open (double click) any zip file, it opens a blank browser (Internet Explorer) . sfc /scannow gives no help. system restore has no live restore points. Any remedy for this please

It's probably just a file association issue which could be fixed by reinstalling whatever tool you use for ZIPping. What OS are you running and what ZIP product do you normally use?

I have no tool whatever(like winzip or other), XP own tool only(zip file lookslike a folder with a zipper).

Hi visitor,
Surf to this site and download and use the Zip association file. At the bottom of the list:

HI Pieter_Arntz
did the reg correction but NO joy. still when (double click/open ) it directs to a blank IE page. however,
right click>exract
is ok even before downloading the reg file.

some one told the kids to download Game xp to increase performance
from
http://www.xelation.nl
-{ Quote: "Game XP is intended to optimize the performance of your computer for gaming needs. It tweaks and modifies various XP settings (cache settings, CPU priority etc.) and optionally disables or stops several Windows services that are usually not needed. The program does not require any installation, and does not need to be running at all times. Game XP extends your operating system's capabilities and makes Windows faster and comfortable for maximum gaming experience. " }-
and here is a screenshot(by the way I cannot attach any pic is this service for registered only)
http://theorica.no-ip.com/download/gameXPscr.gif
I clicked "windows default" in the program but it didn't restore the default. this program has changed the way XP behaves

Hi visitor,
Uploading is for registered members only, yes.
Maybe you can contact the makers of this software and ask if they have encountered this problem before.
I'm out of ideas right now. Everything looks to be normal, but it does not behave that way. ???

Pieter
