XeroBank: Canada Versus Netherlands Exit Node

XeroBank allows a user to select either Canada or the Netherlands as an exit node from its network. Therefore, it reasonable to wonder:

From the perspective of honoring and protecting a user’s anonymity and privacy on the Internet, how do the policies and practices of Canada differ from those in the Kingdom of the Netherlands?

Not especially relevant, because to get to Canada or Netherlands, you're first routed to another country. So even if canada or netherlands logs, it wouldn't matter, because country 1 doesn't, or vice versa. All xerobank routes are built that way. That means we can have germany as an exit node, if we wanted despite their logging, because we break the log links.

Yes, from the limited perspective of identifying a user’s IP address, I agree that the country of the exit node on the XeroBank network is irrelevant. However, anonymity may also be lost as a consequence of a country retaining and “reading” the content of user’s Internet traffic (e.g., email). Therefore, from this larger perspective, is it not worthwhile to compare and contrast the policies and practices of Canada to those in the Kingdom of the Netherlands with respect to the degree to which they honor and protect a user’s anonymity and privacy on the Internet?

Users should always be doing end-to-end encryption, whenever possible. So reading mail won't be an issue. All the routes xb uses are designed to take advantage of the rules in place. They aren't really discussed here in depth, but we keep aware of what is going on worldwide and devise our routes as such. For example, if country x logs email, and you try to send some email through country x, we will automatically reroute you through another country *just* for that traffic.
