I am looking for a program that specifically converts mpeg files to dvd files because so far ashampoo and convertxtodvd fails to burn these files.

I am sure its not the burner because ive tried 2 different ones and i doubt its the cd. I previously tried to burn different mpeg files to dvd and they also refused to be burnt. These files are produced by my sony digital camcorder which may be why programs have such problems burning it. The only program ever able to burn these files was an old version of nero but nero is just bloat and cannot burn it either anymore.

I am hoping by converting to dvd files first will solve the issue. I know there are many programs that can do this but i am looking for the best one.

after you convert the mpegs to dvd files you end up with 2 folders video_ts and audio_ts?

What you might want to try is open the video_ts folder with dvdshrink. dvdshrink will analyze the files. when they are open. If dvdshrink cannot open the files, then they are probably not in the correct format. If you get "navigation errors", run those vob's through "fixvts" (make sure you choose full dvd and no backup), this will fix it in most cases.

Everytime I try to convert my video files to dvd with "winavi" it completes succesfully but, those files will not burn with "nero" because they are not "recognize as dvd files", once I run those files through "fixvts" they burn perfectly.

That's just how I fix my "dvd" files that give me problems.

Not a free product, but Cyberlink (cyberlink.com) Power Producer can do this, as well as burning the dvd itself.
(their website seems to be down atm, I assume the company still exists though)

From memory, the trial version is pretty gimped, I think it will only process 10 minutes worth of footage at a time. :(
