Getting error report: "The Eset Service service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services. This service may not function properly."
Microsoft solution is to go to Services>Eset Service>Properties>Log On and uncheck "Allow service to interact with desktop" Is it O.K. to do this?
Thanks

Yes , it is .

Just in case , you can reinstall the program after that , followed by reboot :thumb:

Thanks HighTech-boy. I'm assuming if all is going well (which it is) that's there is no need to reinstall.

In theory - yes , but It won't hurt , I believe , to perform repair install . Simply download the latest installer from www.eset.com/download and run it . Reboot at the end :thumb:

You are welcome!

O.K. I did a repair install which took me back to square one with the same error report. Closer examination of this article:http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/library/639b684f-ee51-4496-8146-6267ac46cc5c1033.mspx?mfr=true leads me to believe that unchecking the box disables the error report. Checking the box does nothing because Vista does not support services interacting with the desktop! Another example of impeccable Microsoft logic. Thanks for the help anyway.

Hi there, I ask ESET about this and received the following answer:

{QUOTE-> Interactive services must be enabled in MS Vista from my experience (many applications have problems if disabled). I recommend to have a look at this short article from Microsoft http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms683502(VS.85).aspx

So check if there isn't NoInteractiveServices... <-QUOTE}

Hope this helps...

Cheers ;D
