I have just installed Vista business onto my laptop
now i cant synch my Imate K-Jam - vista using windows mobile centre
I have ESET security centre - firewall on
do i need to permit the K-jam to go through the firewall ?
how od i do that??

Do you have WM5 or WM6 on the device?

I am not sure that matters. The firewall is probably just blocking one or more of the required TCP/UDP ports. To correct this put your ESS firewall in interactive mode and then plugin your phone. ESS will then learn all the required ports by prompting you to allow/deny the traffic. Make sure to allow the connection and save your choice so rules get built.

I am running a WM6 Tilt with no issues but that is a WM6 device.

have tried that - but getting an error message:

"Cannot synchronize with the Outlook profile you are using, because a different profile was previously set up or the profile is password-protected.
Please open Outlook using the appropriate profile"


i will work on that - any suggestions welcome

You need WMDC in addition to Sync Center on Vista. WMDC is the Vista equivalent of ActiveSync.
