Looks good but I have a problem after upgrading to version 9.5 as it does not work on my Limited User a/c (LUA). Tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail so still not working on my LUA. Very unhappy.
This is how I did my upgrade:
1) Followed Opera link from this website to download 9.5 version (English).
2) Clicked install and followed instructions.
3) Then clicked on Opera icon to start and it worked fine in Admin a/c.
Then, as usual, I cleaned up using CCleaner as I did in the past with all new installation and went out.
4) Shut down PC and went out ..
5) Came back - restarted PC by login into LUA to start Opera.
6) Error message appeared.
7) Reinstalled all CCleaner registry back to before it was cleaned.
8) Restarted Opera - still did not work in LUA.
9) Reinstalled Opera 9.5 again on top of the present Opera 9.5 with Repair option which went fine.
10) Log-in to LUA to restart Opera but error message still appeared.
11) This time uninstalled Opera 9.5 completely and downloaded from website again for another 9.5 version (just used different site download) to install.
12) Reinstalled Opera 9.5 and it worked perfectly in Admin a/c but when I tried it on LUA - same error message appeared again.
I give up ...
Not a happy bunny.
>:(
P/s: any help please? I like Opera very much but if this does not work I will just stick to Firefox until such time as I can sort out the problem ...

I am impressed by the speed boost of 9.50 compared to 9.27.
Not using fraud protection though (i feel it like spyware, having a site controlling the site i have to visit and tell me if it's good).
Oh, if i type something in the address bar, it gives me a pop up list of "possible words" from my favourites, which i find very annoying. Does anyone know a way to disable this?

does anyone else have issues with opera 9.5?
every so often opera just flashs alot, nearly enough to give someone a seizure. then the taskbar looks weird and only way to get opera working again is to crash it in task manager and reopen.
seems to be something to do with java games.
it has been fine most of the day but since around 6pm or so it started happerning every few hours.

Thank you very much. I found the option as you indicated and disabled it, but it doesn't seem to work. :( I saved, closed Opera, relaunched it, controlled that it is unchecked and it STILL shows me links from my bookmarks when i start typing something in address bar...
EDIT: Just found the solution. From "Operauser" in http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r20630527-Update-Opera-950-Final

Got it here also, just upgraded from the last few beta's. 9.5 is without a doubt the speed king. Firefox 3 is very quick also, but I have to give Opera the slight edge, it's very well done and certainly much faster than previous versions. Also like the new look. No issues here at all.

Oh well ... installation of 9.50 did not go smoothly but I managed to solve the problem by copying & pasting the Opera folder from Admin(programme folder) to LUA (programme folder) and guess what it works! Surprisingly the setting for Admin & LUA remain as they are! i.e. the bookmarks for both are slightly different but somehow it remembers that both are slightly different!
Well, it is not the proper way to solve a problem but hell it works ... now I have two copies of Opera on my system ... hmmm ... one on Admin and the other LUA.
:-[
P/s: I did a complete installation again before my solution above by cleaning everything out but I guess the profiles for both were not deleted and that's one reason both still retain it's setting.

Opera is faster but the killer feature of FF is extensions. It doesn't matter how good Opera/IE8 are, without all the wonderful extensions they will always be a step behind. Of course this doesn't matter for a lot of people who just use the basic browser functionality.

Same here, I always like to keep the extensions to a minimum in FF, I only use mouse gestures, which Opera already has, and NoScript. The main selling point for me is just speed, which Opera seems to excel at..

FYI, with 9.50 on XP, I see Opera's cache location has changed from...
\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4
to...
\Documents and Settings\your username\Local Settings\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4
If you wipe Opera's cache on demand (as I do with Eraser), you will need to adjust the path.

Wondered why CCleaner can't clear Opera's cache after my upgrade to 9.5 :D Thanks for the head's up. Added the following line to CCleaner's ini file and hope it does the job.
Include1=PATH|C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4\|*.*

{QUOTE-> *edit* Seems I may have to add the profile folder including subdirectories to clear the cache. True or not? <-QUOTE}
Wiping the profile\cache4 folder should be sufficient. I follow that with using Opera's "Delete Private Data" function to delete everything else (history, cookies, etc). Do not depend on Opera to securely erase its cache. The last time I checked, Opera does not wipe its cache and those cache files are easily recoverable.
On my XP systems, the profile\opcache folder contains what looks like a config file that includes the following text:
"This file is part of the Opera web browser.
**
** This script patches sites to work better with Opera
** For more information see http://www.opera.com/docs/browserjs/
**
** If you have comments on these patches (for example if you are the webmaster
** and want to inform us about a fixed site that no longer needs patching) please
** report issues through the bug tracking system
** https://bugs.opera.com/
**
** DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE! It will not be used by Opera if edited."
Deleting it may break something. Opera does not recreate it once it's gone. I would leave it alone.

When you go here
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4\
the revocation certificates are kept there which I believe check the validity of a site.

ATM, on my XP systems, the 1KB files in that folder (vlink4.dat, etc) contain no possibly sensitive info. That could change. For now, I see nothing that needs wiping in the "revocation" folder.

Hi, I have been using Opera 9.5 now for about a week and at first loved it, but as time passed I noticed it was quite buggy when browsing-- as reported on their website, (I believe 9.51 is due out imminently with some fixes). So I uninstalled 9.5 and went back to 9.2, or at least tried to, 9.5 was a devil to get rid of. Finally did a clean install of 9.2 and now I notice if I get an email with a weblink, and click the link nothing happens, that is the browser doesn't open. I have looked around Opera and OE but can't see anything. Anybody got any ideas?
