Too tired to look-up for those right now (2:15 AM), never heard of them.
Asuming you already checked that the e-mail is indeed from your bank and not phishing or a scam, I would say that those are probably apps for the average people or some campany that made a deal with with the bank.
Stick with the good and proven anti-malware's.

yeah, it was on the bank's website, not from email....

this is some of what the trusteer website says:

"Rapport protects login credentials and transactions, from desktop to Website,
even if a computer is infected with malware" -

am wondering how they would manage to do that.....

Edit: further digging on their website found these claims:

Rapport uses three layers to create the secure pipe inside the user’s desktop computer:

* The API Blocking Layer controls hundreds of operating system API calls and prevents malware from using these calls to access or tamper with the communication.
* The Data Encryption Layer encrypts sensitive information from the keyboard all the way to the network, and hides it from malware.
* The Delivery Confirmation Layer strongly identifies the Website that the user currently interacts with, and prevents the submission of sensitive information to fraudulent Websites.

Attacks Prevented
Rapport protects against: (click links to learn more)

* Man In The Browser
* Man In The Middle
* Keyloggers
* Session Hijacking
* Screen Capturing
* Pharming
* Phishing and Phishing Malware

most of that is over my head, maybe others on here can evaluate and let us know if this is any good?

Yes, Iīve read about this a while back, and it sure looks interesting, they have already made a deal with ING Direct, so I would be surprised if itīs crap. But then again, itīs easy to claim all kinds of things, just look at NovaShield which is complete crap. And too bad that they arenīt offering it for download, can you perhaps upload it jfd15?

That´s quite strange isn´t it, why would they have removed it? I´m sure that they have tested the thing first before offering it to clients? But I would really like to get my hands on this app, because it seems to be one of the most exciting tools that have been launched lately.

-{ Quote: "Which websites are protected using Rapport?

Rapport protects selected online banking, brokerage, and retail websites. Currently the following websites are protected by default: ING DIRECT, and Muriel Siebert. New websites will be added in the future and your version of Rapport will update automatically. You can manually choose to protect three additional websites by browsing to these websites, clicking the gray Rapport arrow and choosing "Protect this website"." }-

So this tool only protects a couple of sites? Would make more sense if the protection was available on any site.

Assuming you find the download or a link, please do not post it here. Clearly it was intended for their customers, not as a general give away.

Thanks,

Pete

My bad (and thanks for the link), I should have explored the site a bit better, apparantly it is indeed free to download, so I would like to ask all the great testers out there, to take this tool for a spin. Btw, there is also another similar tool called Safecentral, it´s made by Authentium, check it out.

Hi All

It is free to download, which I did. The site is like pulling teeth trying to get information out of it.

I installed it but could not get it to work with Sandboxie. The developers say that it will only work with IE7 and Firefox 2 and 3.

The major problem is that unlike KeyScrambler you have to input all your sites if you want them to be protected, unlike keyscrambler which appears to work with any without input. The fact that it would not work with Sandboxie caused major problems in trying to get the sites protected. It was easy after I realised that SBIE and Rapport would not handshake together.

Site needs more work to make it clearer as does the program. I do think there is potential and it appears to cover more than Keyscrambler. Thats why I assime ING bank uses them

Thanks for testing TerryWood. Are there any other volunteers? Aigle, Kees1958? Or are these tools just not interesting enough? :-\
