Neighbour just bought a new PC and I helped him set it all up including re-installing TI9, b3854.

Installed no problem and then we successfully created the Bootable Rescue Media to CD.

When booting from the CD, we have established that we need use the F11 + quiet acpi=off noapic workaround to be able to continue with 'Full' mode.

My question is - can these parameters be incorporated into or along with the files on the TI9 Bootable Resue Media CD to save having to do it manually every time.?

(I understand TI11 has this option available when building the Rescue Media CD, but upgrading to TI11 is not an option for him).

Thanks for help.

If you can boot from a flashdrive, you may be able to add the parameters to the configuration file on a bootable TI flashdrive.

Thanks for the feedback.

It's the f11.cfg file on the bootcd that looks like the one that would need to include these parameters (but just guessing really).

Keen to test it out but no idea how to update that file for the CD.

You can't update the file for the CD. You would have to request a custom ISO file from Acronis that would include the parameters. The configuration file on the flashdrive is different.

I was able to modify the f11.cfg file on my system and have those changes reflected on the CD when subsequently creating the Bootable Rescue Media.

The initial change I made had no effect on my problem however.

Will continue to play with those parameters but will follow through on your Flash Drive suggestion (will need to go and buy another one though) and place a request for an updated iso from Acronis.

thanks
