Can anybody give me the details how to remove OSS in Vista. I have tried to dual boot vista and xp having them in seperate hard disks. After installing Oss I am getting the following msg
"Starting Acronis Loader. Press <ESC> for menu..."
Evenafter pressing ESC key nothing happens. I want to uninstall OSS. How can I do it?

I'm not sure you can uninstall OSS. I tried to uninstall by uninstalling Disk Director but I don't think that will do it. (I never finished the uninstallation when it appeared it would leave OSS.) However, you can deactivate it and that's what I did.

I have only used OSS 10 and I know it can be uninstalled. For version 8, if there is no option in the menu when you boot into OSS or when you boot to your DD CD, you should be able to deactivate it or reset the MBR to remove it.
Since you're getting an error when you're booting, you'll probably need to reset the MBR. If you have a standard Vista DVD, you can boot it and fix the drive with a repair. If the auto-repair doesn't fix it, open a Command Prompt and use the following command (<ENTER> means to press the ENTER key):
bootrec /FixMbr <ENTER>
Note that if your booting drive is the XP drive and you want to reset it back to XP's MBR, boot to an XP CD and enter the Recovery Console. Then, enter the following command:
fixmbr <ENTER>
